Columbia River Log Scaling & Grading Bureau currently uses Juniper Allegro2 hand held computer as our primary platforms for the collection of log scale information and its transmission to our Eugene office.
The hardware platform is programmed to record log scale information as it is entered on the keyboard, store it in internal memory and electronic flash memory for backup, and periodically transmit the collected results to our Eugene office for further processing and distribution as per customer requirements. The data is transmitted to Eugene several times a day. The scale data is able to be viewed by our customers throughout the day with our online access.
The hardware and software of both platforms has been tested and approved for use by the auditors of Region 6 of the U.S. Forest Service
